cK-12 offers several innovative resources primarily for STEM middle and high school teachers and students. They include:

• Flexbooks – standards-aligned etextbooks with interactive and video, that teachers can customize for their students.
• Customizable Concept Maps – that connect to online videos, activities, etextbook content, simulations and customized teacher content.
• Online classrooms – that allow teachers to create classes of students, discussions, and assignments, and monitor student progress.

Some of the CK-12 content is available as free ebooks in Kindle format from Amazon.com or in iPad format from Apple’s iBookstore. There are also interactive flexbook quiz apps available for download from iTunes and the Android Market.

Use Symbaloo EDU to organize and share bookmarks with your class from anywhere. Bookmarks are displayed as tiles on the screen that you can easily reorganize. Create tabs to have separate mixes of bookmarks for each class or subject. This etool is particularly useful for elementary school teachers who want to provide an easy way for young students to access specific websites.

Wiggio makes it easier to communicate and work in groups. You can use group email, text and voice messages. Use it to host web meetings, conferences and chatrooms. Keep a shared calendar with your students, as well as share and edit files from one folder. Use it to conduct group polls, keep track of student and group tasks and resources.

Teachers can create a virtual binder of classroom resources that their students can access for school projects and work. Free registration is required, and a free account allows you to create 5 binders and a limited amount of storage. Although this etool may have been eclipsed by others such as Symbaloo or Pinterest, it is still useful for the large collection of educator resources that have accumulated on the site in the past several years.
