Shakespeare Online

Shakespeare Online is a comprehensive resource for all things related to this great literary bard.  The site includes a catalog of all his plays and sonnets.

The publisher has a section devoted to analysis with study guides, themes and questions.  Another section provides the best known quotations from the plays, including quotations by themes.  There is a plot summary section and several online quizzes about Shakespeare and his works.

Author Name Pronunciation Guide

This is a collection of brief recordings of authors & illustrators saying their names.   The format is “Hello, my name is . . .”, followed by a brief description of what inspired them to take up their profession.

Google Lit Trips

Take your students on a literary adventure to explore the locations in your favorite works of literature.  Jerome Burg’s lessons use the trip planning feature Google Earth to help students travel with the characters from a 3-dimensional perspective.  The site includes short podcasts explaining the pedagogy, with screen shots to illustrate the journeys.
