Mango Languages

Learn 71 languages with Mango, offered free throughout the US in many public library and school systems. The focus of Mango is learning through short conversations, broken down word by word, with occasional grammar lessons inserted. You repeat words and phrases, and compare your pronunciation to the narrator’s. Conversational and grammar goals are stated at the beginning of each lesson.

The service provides cultural snippets sprinkled throughout the lesson. Cultural immersion is further emphasized through movie snippets (kid-friendly versions are provided).

Some of the commonly used languages offered through Mango include Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Greek and Russian.

To find out if Mango is offered through your library or school system, check availability with your zip code. Mango is also available as fee-based app for iPhone/iPad and Android.
